almighty god

.
The world's shaking with the love of God
Great and glorious, let the whole earth sing
.
And all you ever do is change the old for new
People we believe that

God is bigger than the air I breathe
The world we'll leave
God will save the day and all will say
My glorious!

Clouds are breaking, heaven's come to earth
Hearts awakening let the church bells ring
And all you ever do is change the old for new
People we believe that

God is bigger than the air I breathe
The world we'll leave
God will save the day and all will say
My glorious!

When I read ‘Almighty God’ there is such a sense for me of vastness and hugeness. Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, ‘The world is charged with the grandeur of God’. What a fantastic thought – everything stuffed full to overflowing with God’s majestic splendour.
God is bigger than everything. As Delirious rightly say, - He is bigger than the sum of all things and is at the heart of all things and, as the bible tells us, He is love. It says in Colossians Ch1 v17: He (Jesus) is before all things, and in him all things hold together. In Hebrews Ch 1 v3 it says, The Son (Jesus) is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. This mighty, awesome God is revealed to us in Jesus, born in a stable, born as a vulnerable human being and He is ‘Almighty God’!
In Isaiah it says, ‘And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Almighty God. This baby, who is Jesus, who has come amongst us, is Almighty God and I can know Him and love Him as He loves and knows me – incredible!
