Many of us who are more mature in years (I hope that was gracefully said) have experienced many changes, yet some things never seem to be different. I was three years old when Elizabeth was coronated. I was extremely put out because my sister received a coronation mug from school, but because I had not yet started I didn't get one - I was extremely miffed. It rankles to this day! Many people have never known a time when Queen Elizabeth has not been on the throne.

I remember our first telephone. It was installed at the bottom of the stairs and we were scared stiff of it. When it rang we froze. My first mobile was a traumatic time. Today nobody seems to be able to cope without one. They say there is more technological power in today's mobile than NASA had when they sent Neil Armstrong to the moon!

As followers of Jesus we are meant to change. In Romans ch8 v29 it says: God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. (The Message.)

Our destiny, should we embrace it, is to become like Jesus. That means that change will be inevitable but wonderful. Let's embrace the changes that God brings with joy!!
