Happy Christmas to you all. May you discover afresh this Christmas time the wonder that is ‘God made man in Jesus Christ’. Despite the confusion over which parts of Christmas are literal, sentiment or 21st century western materialism etc., etc., our prayer for you is that you might know Him, the greatest gift of all. May we see through the food, presents and lights, through the loneliness and sadness that many experience at this time of year, and know the one who truly comforts and liberates – Jesus who saves his people from their sins.
Seasons of myth and mellow fable land
Close bosom friend of the not quite true
Yet deep in the shadows a light is shining
Calling out to me and you
I don’t want to stay in the cloying darkness
I won’t live with the lies and sadness.
Seasons of hope through our God now made man
Despite the deceptions of tinsel and tree
Enveloping me now with a love that is real
A love that embraces both you and me
The light of the world now dispelling my fear
The prince of peace who is now drawing near
Walk with me soul-friend into the light that is Christ
Help me along when I stumble and fall
For surely we embrace a truth that is grounded
Revealed to us now in manger and stall
We will stand straight as the dark shadows flee
We will rejoice in our God who sets free.
SEE YOU ALL IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AS WE START A NEW YEAR.
